Since 2012, we have been at the forefront of developing charging infrastructure in Europe, building and operating a rapidly growing network of iconic fast-charging stations. Our yellow stations, inspired by nature, offer a welcoming environment for drivers during the 10 to 15 minutes needed to charge up to 300 km of range. By offering the most reliable, convenient, and pleasant charging experience in Europe, we aim to encourage millions of people to drive on solar and wind power so that together, we can curb climate change. The research also revealed the top 10 destinations for electric vehicle road trippers, with Norfolk and North East England ranking among the top five.

County Durham, the Kentish Coast and the Suffolk Coast also featured in the top 10, offering drivers a stress-free getaway with plenty of opportunities to recharge both their vehicle and themselves.

Confidence in the UK’s public charging infrastructure is also at an all-time high, with 81% of EV motorists surveyed saying they feel assured that the charging network can now support them on long-distance journeys.

Tom Hurst, UK Country Director at Fastned, said: “We believe the driver comes first, so we looked to uncover what the future of summer road trips looks like for UK motorists, including specifically EV drivers. From where people are heading to what makes a great staycation destination, we wanted to explore how travel habits are shifting gears and what’s powering the next generation of road trips.

“Across much of mainland Europe, there’s a well-known phenomenon called ‘Black Weekend’ or ‘Black Saturday’, the moment when millions of people hit the roads at the same time to head to their favourite beaches, coastlines and countryside spots for their summer getaway. Think ‘Black Friday’, but for summer travel.

“We were intrigued to find out whether Britain is starting to develop its own version and whether EV drivers are helping to drive a new era of summer travel.”

According to the research, the weekend of 7th August was identified by those polled as the UK’s peak summer getaway weekend, making it possibly the UK’s equivalent of Europe’s “Black Weekend” (or “Black Saturday”), a popular term used across Europe to describe the busiest summer travel period within the country. In fact, over the past five years, 56 per cent said they have consciously moved towards a lifestyle more traditionally associated with countries like Spain, France, Monaco and Italy.

Tom Hurst, UK Country Director at Fastned, added: “As more people switch to electric, understanding how, when and where they travel will be key to keeping the UK’s EV transition moving.”

Carried out through OnePoll, the UK Summer Travel research also found:

Four in 10 people (40 per cent) now eat outdoors more frequently than they used to, while 26 per cent have adopted a slower pace of life.

Around three in 10 (28 per cent) now take more time to enjoy and savour meals, and 37 per cent like spending more time outdoors and enjoying their surroundings.

UK’s TOP 10 BEST STAYCATION DESTINATIONS FOR EV DRIVERS WERE:

Cornwall – e.g. St Ives, Falmouth, Penzance, Land’s End

Cotswolds – e.g. Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury

Scotland / Gateway to the Highlands – e.g. Loch Lomond, The Trossachs, Glencoe, Scottish Highlands

Norfolk – e.g. North Norfolk Coast, Hunstanton, Wells-next-the-Sea, Sandringham

North East England – e.g. Northumberland, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Holy Island

Kent Coast – e.g. White Cliffs of Dover, Deal, Folkestone, Sandwich

North East Coast – e.g. Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, Newcastle

Suffolk Coast – e.g. Aldeburgh, Southwold, Woodbridge

County Durham – e.g. Durham City, Beamish Museum, North Pennines

West London – e.g. Windsor, Richmond, Kew Gardens

The nature-inspired CPO has 39 ultra-rapid charging hubs across the UK, including locations in all of the survey’s top EV staycation destinations, and more than 440 across Europe, Fastned’s growing network is helping EV drivers go further and get to where they need to be.

Tom Hurst, UK Country Director for Fastned, added: “We're seeing more people embrace staycations, longer road trips and electric vehicles, as a more sustainable, and indeed, affordable way to travel. Moderated by Ellen Hiep (VER), the panel brought together Olly Craughan (DPD UK), Tanya Sinclair (Electric Vehicles UK) and Judith Hayton (Transport for London).

From private motorists and commercial fleets to taxis and last-mile delivery operators, the discussion highlighted the vastly different charging needs across the transport network. Panellists agreed that a diverse range of users can only be served by a diverse range of charging solutions, with no single approach able to meet every need.

As London electrifies, on-street charging and ultra-rapid charging hubs will play a vital role in supporting those without access to home charging, while enabling businesses and fleets to transition to electric. Understanding real-world behaviour and the operational needs of different users will be essential when planning the charging infrastructure of the future.

Building the charging ecosystem

Next, panellists examined the wider charging ecosystem, exploring the building blocks needed to support the EV transition.

Moderated by Fastned, this panel brought together Eleanor Clark (Transport for London), John Colgan (Places for London) and Zak Bond (Clean Cities) to explore what it will take to deliver charging infrastructure at scale.

The discussion concluded that building a future-ready charging network is about far more than installing charge points. Grid capacity, strategic land availability, investment, digital technology and strong public-private partnerships were all identified as essential ingredients in creating a reliable, accessible and resilient charging ecosystem.

Unlocking London’s charging future

Rounding off the afternoon before guests continued the conversation over drinks and nibbles, the final panel, “Policy, Planning and Permits - How do we unlock London’s charging future?”, brought together Tom Hurst (Fastned), Jarrod Birch (Charge UK) and Mark Fletcher (London Councils), with Ellen Hiep returning to moderate a lively discussion on the policy and planning changes needed to accelerate London’s EV charging rollout.

The conversation highlighted the critical role local authorities can play in removing barriers to deployment through clear electrification strategies, consistent planning decisions and stronger collaboration with industry partners.

Collaboration is key

A recurring theme throughout the afternoon was that London’s charging ecosystem must be designed around the needs of an increasingly diverse mix of users, from private drivers and commercial fleets to taxis and public transport providers.

Commercial fleets were recognised as a defining force in the evolution of new mobility, with speakers highlighting the importance of charging infrastructure that reflects the operational realities of businesses transitioning to electric.

While reducing unnecessary car movements and enabling home charging remain important levers for decarbonisation, the discussion reinforced that accessible public charging, including on-street charging and ultra-rapid charging hubs, will be essential to ensuring no driver or business is left behind.

Speakers also highlighted the need for more opportunities for national government, local authorities and the private sector to work together, sharing requirements, addressing challenges and finding solutions to deliver charging infrastructure more quickly and equitably.

Looking ahead

The inaugural Plugged In Café highlighted the value of bringing together experts from across government, transport and industry to share knowledge, address common challenges and identify practical solutions for the future of EV charging.

Fastned and VER would like to thank all speakers, moderators and attendees who contributed to the success of the event. Following the positive response, planning is already underway for the next Plugged In Café.

To find out more or register your interest in future events, please get in touch with Denise Cannas (denise.cannas@fastned.nl).

UK,NewsUK,article,Fastned

To celebrate the official opening, the new Hatton Cross charging hub will offer five days of free charging, from Monday 15 June to Friday 19 June 2026. Drivers just need to turn up, authorise their charge with their normal payment method and then enjoy free charging on Fastned.

The new EV hub, part of work to deliver on the Mayor’s manifesto target of up to 40,000 charge points in London by 2030, is the first of 25 planned to be delivered across London by the partnership, has been designed with accessibility and comfort in mind. It includes extra-wide bays and two fully accessible charging spaces in line with the latest British Standards Institution guidance, alongside weather protection provided by Fastned’s signature yellow solar canopies. The hub also has CCTV coverage throughout the site and 24/7 multilingual customer support, ensuring a safe, easy and enjoyable experience for all users.

Open 24/7 and powered entirely by renewable energy, the hub features 12 ultra-rapid (400kW) charging bays, capable of delivering up to 100 miles (around 160 kilometres) of range in just five minutes. It is strategically located within easy access to Heathrow Airport, the M25, M4 and A30, making it a convenient stop for airport commuters, residents, taxi and private hire drivers, and business fleets.

Many drivers, particularly in London, depend on public charging, with the UK having around 2 million battery electric vehicles on the roads now, and around 40 per cent of UK households lacking off-street parking. Designed for vehicles of all sizes, from cars and taxis to vans and smaller commercial vehicles, the hub helps tackle London’s space constraints, providing a welcome option where home or depot charging is not available.

The capital leads the way in EV uptake nationally, with more than 175,000 battery electric cars and vans already registered in the capital. EV numbers on the road in London are projected to reach to over 1 million by 2030, making up to 36 per cent of London's car and van fleet. This hub contributes directly to 2030 forecasts for EV infrastructure and marks a tipping point for London as over half of the high-powered chargers needed by the end of the decade have now been delivered.

The partnership aims to make ultra-fast charging more accessible by creating a city-wide network of hubs which are thoughtfully designed for all users, with planning already in place for a flagship 36-bay location at Hanger Lane and an 8-bay hub at East Finchley Underground station car park.

Three other sites are within the planning process across Newham, Haringey, and Barking and Dagenham, with a further seven sites due to be submitted for borough review by the end of the year. Alongside accessible charging, every site will also deliver community benefits, with a share of revenue supporting local projects and climate initiatives. The partnership is also dedicated to tackling the growing “green skills” gap, providing apprenticeships, work experience placements, and employment opportunities to help upskill Londoners and secure the future of the city’s green transition.

About Places for London

Places for London is the dedicated commercial property arm of Transport for London (TfL). Operating with independent financing, it focuses on developing residential and commercial spaces where people are proud to live and work. As a long-term steward, its strategy prioritises inclusive partnerships and community engagement.

The company addresses London’s critical needs by delivering affordable housing, new workspaces, and retail environments, while supporting urban sustainability through green building practices and rapid EV charging hubs. All operating profits are returned to TfL as dividends to be reinvested into the city’s transport network.

Development is currently underway on sites across the capital to provide 4,900 new homes. More than 1,700 homes have already been completed, with 58 per cent classified as affordable housing.

<pp:quotes><pp:quote>

What is so unique about Fastned Gentbrugge, and what makes its shop and restaurant stand out?

Think of a typical highway stop: it’s dark, cramped, full of advertisements and maybe not smelling great. Then step into Fastned Gentbrugge - the difference is enormous.

Every element used is inspired by nature: the timber structure and green roof that you see the moment you arrive, the large windows that bring natural light into the interior, and the greenery that surrounds the building. The facade opens towards the picnic area and the trees rather than the highway - and we even reused the soil from the groundworks to create sheltering hills around the site. These aren't just aesthetic choices. They're about giving people a genuinely calm, welcoming place to stop and charge, in a place you actually want to be.

The Architizer A+Awards nomination is in the ‘sustainable commercial building’ category. How have you made Gentbrugge sustainable?

From the start, we wanted to push sustainability beyond what's standard. The whole site operates with zero emissions, but we wanted to find new ways to innovate in design and construction. I’m especially proud of what we did to reduce our use of concrete in construction. Instead of a standard concrete slab on the ground floor - which most timber buildings use - we used a layer of seashells to achieve stability without any concrete at all. Where we do use concrete, for example in the column footings, it’s recycled.

At every stage, we are selective about who we work with and we choose the best partners and contractors to find solutions that go well beyond what is standard, and really find new ways to build beautifully and sustainably.

We often speak about our nature-inspired and human-centric design - can you show us an example of this inside the building?

Just look up! Most retail areas have big air conditioning pipes hanging overhead, or a fake ceiling to hide all the equipment. We wanted to avoid this industrial, cold feel to the building, so we built everything within the walls, with ventilation grills blowing air in from the sides. It adds some complexity to the structure, but the result is a clean, calm ceiling that enhances the feeling of space and relaxation.

Ten air conditioning units overhead would have completely destroyed that feeling of being surrounded by nature, and made it just another retail space. We want to do better than that: bring that spacious human touch that really makes buildings feel special.

What does a project like Gentbrugge mean for the future of Fastned retail?

Gentbrugge is a flagship: an ambitious vision to show what’s possible. We can’t replicate this everywhere because most sites aren’t as big as these ones!

We’re rolling out smaller modular retail facilities, keeping what matters most: the human-centric approach and the nature-inspired feel. All the learnings from Gentbrugge carried forward into something we can begin to scale more widely, but that still feels special when you walk in.

So does that mean we will we see more shops and restaurants across Fastned's network?

Definitely. Fast charging is our core business and always will be. But we want customers to know that when they come to Fastned, there's a good place to rest, use the toilets, and get a decent coffee. If there's something nearby already, that’s great - but if there's nothing, we'll provide it.

Maybe that will be a full shop and restaurant like Gentbrugge, or maybe a smaller self-service kiosk with good coffee, snacks and a clean toilet. We want every driver to know that whenever you stop at Fastned, your needs are taken care of.

What is the impact of architecture and design on Fastned's mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility?

I hope Gentbrugge shows people what the charging experience can actually be: calm, pleasant, in a beautiful location where people want to spend time. We’ve even seen people driving combustion engine cars stopping here, just because they loved the feeling of the place. We don’t sell petrol, so these drivers are coming just to spend time in a place they like. That shows the impact we can have.

Design and architecture have a real role to play in making the transition accessible to everyone, and showing people that going electric isn't a compromise. It can mean a genuinely better experience, good for people and good for the planet.

How can people learn more?

There’s more about our nomination here and you can read all about Fastned Gentbrugge in this article.

And of course - don’t forget to vote for Gentbrugge to win in the sustainable commercial building category at the Architizer website until May 15 - we'd really appreciate your support!

The Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture. The ruling confirms that fast charging is its own unique industry, and access to motorway charging locations must be awarded through open and transparent tendering procedures - a principle Fastned has advocated and fought for since the company’s foundation.

This principle, previously confirmed in the Netherlands, has now been reinforced at the highest level in Germany, showing how increasing market access in one country can influence progress across the wider EU. As demand for fast charging continues to grow, open and competitive access to prime highway locations remains a critical determinant of the quality of charging infrastructure available to European drivers.

EV adoption accelerating in key markets

The shift away from fossil fuel cars in Europe is accelerating. By offering the most reliable, convenient, and pleasant charging experience in Europe, we aim to encourage millions of people to drive on solar and wind power so that together, we can curb climate change. The company’s long term ambition is to continue expanding across Europe towards a network of 1,000 large, scalable charging locations by 2030.
This growth in volume and footprint, also reflected in the recent 2025 Annual Report, has been delivered through a strategic and disciplined approach to securing crucial sites EV drivers need most, through a mix of competitive tenders and direct partnerships with landowners, developers and retailers. The new additions to the leadership team strengthen Fastned’s ability to turn ambition into delivery, prioritising the right corridors, building a robust pipeline and bringing high quality stations to market across three strategically important countries.

France: accelerating market leadership

France is already one of Fastned’s largest growth engines, with the company surpassing the 50 station milestone in 2025. Recent tender wins have further positioned Fastned at the forefront of France’s transition to fully electric service areas, combining high power chargers, high quality amenities and distinctive architecture to stand out from competitors and attract both EV drivers and real estate partners.

As part of this next phase, current Country Director France, Pierre Courgeon, will move into a new strategic role focused on reinforcing Fastned’s operational leadership, while continuing to support the development of the French business. Sarah Wodehouse will succeed him as Country Director France, marking the next step in Fastned’s strategy: moving from rapid rollout to sustained, market shaping scale.

A strategic transformation leader by background, with strong experience scaling operations and improving performance in complex mobility organisations, Sarah will strengthen local execution to accelerate delivery, deepen real estate partnerships and ensure capital is deployed where it drives the strongest long term economics.

Switzerland: strengthening a strategic market at the heart of Europe

Switzerland is a pivotal and fast evolving EV market in Fastned’s European network, both as a natural cross border corridor and as a country with a growing EV adoption. It connects EV drivers travelling between northern Europe, the Alps, Italy and the Mediterranean, while serving the everyday charging needs of Swiss drivers, from private car owners to heavy-duty vehicles. Its compact size makes it particularly well-suited for EV uptake, as shorter distances between urban agglomerations mean that a well-placed charging network can cover the entire country efficiently, lowering range anxiety and accelerating the transition to electric mobility.
Fastned has been active in Switzerland for several years and holds one of the major concession packages awarded under the federal highway programme by ASTRA, giving the company long term rights to develop a broad set of high potential sites along key national routes. Building on this foundation, Fastned is expanding its Swiss network by combining motorway locations with strategically chosen sites near major cities and travel hubs.

With Christine Zingg-Graf as Country Director, the company is ready to drive the next stage of growth in this strategic cross border market. An experienced transformation leader with a strong corporate finance background and deep industry exposure across infrastructure, energy and clean tech, Christine will scale delivery, deepen partnerships and ensure Fastned’s expansion remains high quality, financially disciplined and built for long term value.

Denmark: winning ground in a high potential market

Denmark is a strategically important market for Fastned’s next phase of European growth: a highly advanced EV country where the pace of infrastructure rollout is high and where the strongest networks are being shaped now. As a frontrunner in the green transition, Denmark combines a strong national commitment to wind and solar power with customers who expect sustainable, future proof solutions. Fastned aims to build a coherent Danish network centred on key transport corridors and the largest urban areas, prioritising locations that support a high quality customer experience and sustainable long term economics. By offering customer driven fast charging powered by green electricity from renewable sources, Fastned seeks to complement Denmark’s leadership in clean technologies with a charging experience that is fast, intuitive and reliable for everyday drivers.

To build on this momentum in a competitive and high paced market, Fastned is appointing Jesper Krüger Soendergaard as Country Director to lead the next phase of expansion. A senior commercial leader with deep experience in the energy sector and a strong track record of delivering profitable growth and business transformation across Scandinavia, Jesper will drive a multi track growth approach, combining selective tenders with privately sourced locations and partnerships, to further expand Fastned’s presence across the country.

With these appointments, Fastned is reinforcing the local leadership needed to deliver on its European growth ambitions, turning a strong pipeline and strategy into more high quality stations on the ground for EV drivers across the continent.

<pp:quotes><pp:quote>

Since 2012, we have been at the forefront of developing charging infrastructure in Europe, building and operating a rapidly growing network of iconic fast-charging stations. Our yellow stations, inspired by nature, offer a welcoming environment for drivers during the 10 to 15 minutes needed to charge up to 300 km of range. By offering the most reliable, convenient, and pleasant charging experience in Europe, we aim to encourage millions of people to drive on solar and wind power so that together, we can curb climate change. Fastned is listed on Euronext Amsterdam (AMS: FAST) and is a certified B Corp.
</pp:boilerplate>

What happened on Friday 6 March in Germany?

On 6 March 2026, a German court (the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf) ruled that charging and fuel are separate markets and require separate, competitive tendering. This ruling marked the end of Fastned's long-running claim against Autobahn GmbH concerning the extension of fuel concessions awarded to Tank & Rast, Germany's largest operator of motorway service areas.

This is a significant principle: it means that fast charging infrastructure at motorway service areas in Germany cannot be awarded as a simple add-on to existing petrol station contracts.

From now on, if a player wants to install EV charging services at an existing motorway service area in Germany, they’ll have to put these services out to tender, allowing competitors like Fastned to bid for them.

This ruling invalidates the existing ‘exclusive’ agreements that previously gave Tank & Rast control of EV fast charging at around 360 motorway locations. This gives both new and established players the chance to bring more EV charging services to the market - which is good for the electric driver.

Why does this matter?

Motorway service areas are where fast charging is most crucial, and there is an ever-increasing need for better quality charging infrastructure on German highways.

Fastned brought a case against Autobahn GmbH to challenge extensions to the fuel concessions which had been granted to Tank & Rast, a private company that operates almost all motorway service areas in Germany. Today Tank & Rast controls around 90% of German motorway service areas, and under the original agreement, would have controlled all fast charging services at those areas too.

And that's a problem: it means one single company would be making the big decisions on infrastructure investment, quality, and pricing - essentially eliminating free competition. This would be bad news for drivers, and would slow the wider EV transition in Germany.

Why did Fastned take up this case?

Simply put: because we believe in fair competition and providing the best charging experience to every electric driver.

Previously, we were excluded from doing this at many serviced rest areas on German highways - prime locations for EV charging. Tank & Rast's exclusive arrangement meant we (and every other charging operator) couldn't bid for Germany's most strategically important locations.

The case took four years and a huge amount of work from our team in Germany. We pursued it because we're building a pan-European charging network for the long term, and this requires fair market access, in Germany and across the continent.

So what does this ruling change?

The Court said that EV charging networks require specialist expertise and fair competition, and that multiple operators must be able to compete for these locations through competitive tenders - bringing faster rollout, better service, and real choice for EV drivers.

Germany's motorway fast-charging will now be opened to competitive tendering.

Multiple operators (including Fastned) can bid to build and operate charging infrastructure.

Competition will drive faster infrastructure development and better service for drivers.

A legal principle has been clearly established: charging networks cannot be bundled with other services to lock out competitors.

What does it mean for Fastned, and what happens now?

The previous monopoly arrangement excluded us (and other EV charging companies) from Germany's largest motorway network. With our success in this case, Fastned can now participate in competitive bids for hundreds of potential motorway locations which were previously not available to us. This opens up new possibilities for our network in Germany, which already extends to over 50 stations around the country.

This ruling also validates our long-standing principle that EV charging is a standalone service requiring dedicated expertise - it’s not just an ‘add-on’ to petrol station re-fueling. This principle sets a template for competitive tendering across Europe.

The next step will be for Autobahn GmbH to design and launch a competitive tender process (likely later in 2026). Fastned’s team in Germany will soon begin preparing a comprehensive bid to operate charging infrastructure at these locations - aiming to bring more Fastned stations to German highways over the coming years.

News,feature

On the road to its ambition of 50% representation by 2030, the company is seeing women take on increasingly central roles in defining its future: leading country organisations, developing the charging network, and driving core technical and commercial innovation.

From percentages to people
This shift extends beyond the office and into roles where female representation has historically been low.
In the construction pillar, where the wider market sees women in only around 10% of roles, they now comprise nearly 34% of Fastned’s team. The contrast is even stronger in software engineering: while the industry average sits at 11%, Fastned has reached 24.5% female representation, more than double the market standard.
These figures reflect a deliberate strategy to hire and promote women into the heart of the business.
Caro De Brouwer, Network Development Director, sees the impact of this approach firsthand.

Leadership that reflects the company
This evolution is mirrored in Fastned’s leadership. Women currently hold approximately one third of positions on the Executive Team, one third of the Management Board, half of the seats on the Supervisory Board, which is chaired by a woman, and one third of the FAST shareholders’ foundation board. For several years, Fastned has maintained a formal target of at least 30% female representation in these key governance bodies and is committed to sustaining and building on that level.
For Françoise Poggi, Chief Operations Officer, this progress reflects a culture where women are valued for who they are, and where leadership mirrors the world Fastned serves.

Fastned’s commitment to inclusive leadership has earned external recognition, including a Deloitte award for diverse and inclusive leadership and B Corp certification, reflecting high standards in governance, people and environmental impact.

Turning ambition into action
Fastned’s progress stems from a series of practical, structural choices rather than any single initiative. Clear expectations for female representation in leadership set the direction, while regular reviews of pay and people policies ensure that compensation, parental leave and flexibility support equal opportunity for all. Furthermore, the company has made salary frameworks and career paths more transparent to facilitate growth. Fastned also places strong emphasis on engaging men as part of this change, building awareness and inviting them to actively support gender equality in their teams, from running inclusive hiring and development conversations to speaking up when they see bias. The goal is to ensure everyone can grow, and that women can thrive without having to change who they are to fit in.

Fastned’s commitment also extends beyond its own walls. Recently, the company became a founding partner of Global Women in EV Day. Although, based in the UK, this is a global, annual moment to celebrate, elevate and empower women. By supporting this initiative, Fastned aims to help build a stronger pipeline of women entering and growing within the wider electric mobility sector.

Looking ahead
Today, women at Fastned lead markets, develop the network and build the critical systems that power European electric mobility. The next step is to make this level of representation the norm both in our industry and beyond.
Over time, Fastned has observed that teams with a mix of genders, nationalities and backgrounds tend to bring a wider range of perspectives, challenge assumptions earlier and reach more balanced decisions, particularly in complex infrastructure projects and cross-border operations. Passing 42% female representation demonstrates that setting clear expectations, reviewing practices and listening to employees can fundamentally shift who gets to shape the energy transition. Now, the focus is on sustaining this progress and making it the norm across the organisation.

<pp:quotes><pp:quote>

<pp:quotetext>It’s incredibly energising to see leading banks commit up to €200 million in financing for Fastned. It marks a defining moment for the company and a powerful endorsement of its strategy, giving us a real boost and creating scalable funding that can grow with Fastned as we expand internationally, supporting our ambitions to build 1,000 stations by 2030. This further strengthens our position as one of Europe’s leading ultra‑rapid charging companies.I’m hugely proud of what we have achieved to reach this point and excited about where we are going. Our focus in the UK for 2026 is simple and unwavering. We’re not just rolling out ultra‑rapid EV charging stations; we’re helping shape the future of UK EV adoption.By making charging reliable, intuitive and genuinely enjoyable and continuing to put drivers at the heart of everything we do, from our iconic yellow solar canopies to ultra-rapid chargers in premium locations. Our expanding network will one day enable EV drivers to access charging wherever and whenever they need it, helping to power the UK’s transition to fair and accessible zero‑emission mobility.</pp:quotetext>

<pp:quotetext>Today marks a huge step forward for Fastned. For over a decade, our strong business model and the support of our retail bond investors enabled Fastned to build a leading concept and start scaling it ahead of the market. This earned us the freedom to pick the right moment to access institutional lending, with the right partners, on the right terms. That moment has now arrived. I want to thank everyone involved in this deal for their hard work and commitment in getting us here. The future is electric, and this additional source of funding will empower Fastned to continue building and leading this transition - bringing our iconic stations to drivers across the continent and creating the infrastructure we need for a cleaner and more independent Europe. We've set high ambitions to scale Fastned, and I've never been more confident we can achieve them.</pp:quotetext>
