Terms and Conditions – Free charging promotion

These terms and conditions (hereinafter the “Terms and Conditions”) apply to the free charging promotion as further set out below, organised by Fastned UK Limited (company registration number 11140404), a private limited company, having its registered office at 48-50 Scrutton Street, London, England, EC2A 4HH (hereinafter “Fastned”). 

These Terms and Conditions apply to any free charging promotion issued by any affiliate of Fastned and apply in addition to Fastned’s general Terms of Use. Details of all Fastned’s affiliates can be found here.

  1. General information 

    1. The promotion period will run from 00:01 on 15 May 2026 (the "Opening Date") to 11:59pm on 22 May 2026 (the "Closing Date") inclusive (hereinafter the “Promotion Period”) 

    2. During the Promotion Period, customers at the Fastned Hemel Hempstead site may initiate and complete an unlimited number of charging sessions at no cost, subject to the Site Energy Cap and these Terms and Conditions. The final cost of each charging session will be £0.00. 

    3. To access the promotion, customers must activate each charging session using a valid payment method. Accepted payment methods are a debit or credit card, the Fastned app, or a third-party charge card. A valid payment method is required to initiate every session; however, no payment will be taken and no charge will be applied. 

    4. When initiating a charging session, customers may see a temporary pre-authorisation amount held against their payment method. This pre-authorisation will be released in full, and no charge will be debited. The timeline of the release will be determined by the customer’s bank or card provider and typically occur within 1-2 business days. 

    5. Site Energy Cap

      1. The total free energy available under this promotion at the Fastned Hemel Hempstead site is capped at 20 MWh across the Promotion Period (the "Site Energy Cap").

      2. Fastned will monitor energy dispensed throughout the Promotion Period. Once the Site Energy Cap has been reached, the free charging promotion will cease immediately, regardless of whether the Closing Date has been reached, and standard tariffs will apply to all subsequent charging sessions.

      3. Fastned will use reasonable endeavours to communicate when the Site Energy Cap is approaching but accepts no liability for customers who are unable to benefit from the promotion as a result of the Site Energy Cap being reached. Customers are advised to check the current status of the promotion at [URL] before travelling to the site.

      4. Any charging session that begins before the Site Energy Cap is reached and is still in progress at the point the cap is reached will be completed at £0.00. No new sessions may commence under the promotion once the cap is reached.

    6. The free charging benefit described in this clause applies exclusively during the Promotion Period. From 12:00 on 19 May 2026, or when the Site Energy Cap is reached, whichever is sooner, all charging sessions at Fastned Hemel Hempstead will revert to the standard tariff applicable at the time of the session.

    7. Fastned reserves the right to amend its standard tariff from time to time in accordance with its general Terms of Use. The promotion does not confer any right to free or discounted charging beyond the Promotion Period.

    8. The following are not eligible to participate in the promotion:

      1. employees of Fastned or its holding or subsidiary companies; or

      2. employees of agents or suppliers of Fastned or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the promotion or its administration.

  1. Fraud prevention

    1. Fastned reserves the right to refuse the free charging promotion, and to suspend or block accounts if it suspects fraud or abuse.

 

  1. Limitation of liability 

    1. Insofar as is permitted by law, Fastned, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate users or accept any liability for any loss, charging session technical failures, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the promotion except where it is caused by the negligence of Fastned, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

  1. Data protection and publicity 

    1. Fastned will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Statement. 

 

  1. General 

    1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Fastned may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the promotion.

    2. Fastned reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.

    3. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any customer wishes to take court proceedings, they must do so within the courts of England and Wales.
