Fastned user terms of use

1. Scope of Application

You can charge your vehicle at Fastned as a registered customer or without registering. The following Terms of Use apply only to charging sessions made as a registered customer. Registration is done via the Fastned application, which is available for free in  the App Store or Google Play Store ("Fastned app"). Registering offers the benefit of improved customer service, making it easier for us to assist you if any issues arise during your charging session(s). You will also receive relevant information, such as notifications about the opening of new charging stations or temporary outages of a charging station. When registering in the Fastned app, you have two options: you can sign up for a paid subscription to receive a discount on charging sessions, or you can register without a subscription. If you register for a subscription, the additional subscription terms in Article 12 apply. If you choose not to get a subscription, you will pay the standard rate for each charging session you start, and a separate transaction will be made with Fastned for each session. 

2. Who Runs the App and Provides your Electricity

The Fasted app is provided by Fastned B.V., a limited liability company under Dutch law with its registered office in Amsterdam, Amstelplein 44 (1096 BC), registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 54606179 ("Fastned"). Fastned is responsible for the technical operation of the Fastned app and the general content. 

The electricity for each charging session is supplied and invoiced by the local Fastned subsidiary operating in the country where the charging session takes place. 3. Acceptance and Validity of Terms 

When you create your account in the Fastned app, we ask you to accept these Terms of Use. By ticking the consent box, these Terms of Use become applicable to the relationship between you and Fastned. 

For existing customers, the Terms of Use from 27.01.2023 continue to apply unless the customer expressly accepts these Terms of Use 04.03.2026.


4. How we use and protect Your Data

When registering as a Fastned customer, Fastned also asks you to provide personal data. Data protection and data security are important to us. When processing and storing your personal data, we fulfil the requirements of the applicable data protection laws and regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation. 5. User Responsibilities and Account Misuse

The access data of your Fastned account are personal and confidential. Registered Fastned customers undertake not to provide any false information about themselves.  Your personal account is for your use only and may not be shared with or used by third parties, except for Sub-Users in accordance with Article 6. It is also not permitted to set up an account in the name of another person. If Fastned detects any misuse, we may delete or block your account immediately without prior notice or – if you have taken out a Subscription – immediately terminate the Subscription contract without further notice. This also applies if you violate applicable laws or other contractual agreements. In addition, Fastned reserves the right to demand full reimbursement from you, for all costs and damages incurred by Fastned as a result of your misuse.


6. Sharing an Account (Sub-Users) 

You can invite additional users (“Sub-Users”) to your Fastned account. This is the only permitted way to share your account (including linked vehicles and/or Subscription), while keeping all charging activity on a single invoice. As the main account holder, you remain responsible for all charges made by Sub-Users. Only you can add or remove payment methods, add new vehicles and activate Autocharge or Subscription.  Fastned may, at its discretion, limit or disable this feature at any time and will notify you accordingly.


7. Autocharge

Autocharge is a feature that allows you to start a charging session simply by plugging in your vehicle. Once activated in the Fastned App, Autocharge automatically recognizes your vehicle and starts charging as soon as you connect the cable. The cost of each charging session will be billed directly to your chosen payment method linked in your Fastned account. By enabling Autocharge, you agree that all charging sessions started with your linked vehicle will be charged to your account.


8. How to delete your Fastned Account

Registered Fastned customers can delete their Fastned app account at any time. If you want Fastned to delete your account can do this within the Fastned app or can send an email to [email protected]. We will delete your account once you have paid any outstanding amounts owed to Fastned for services used. 


9. Service Availability and Liability

Fastned always strives to ensure that you can charge your vehicle without interruptions or faults. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the electricity supply will always be error-free. A charging session may be cancelled or may not start due to a technical problem, a (general) power failure, force majeure, or other reasons. Fastned is not required to provide the service if there are interruptions or irregularities in the electricity supply to the charging stations, provided that the issue is not attributable to Fastned. The actual possible charging speed can be influenced by various factors, including vehicle compatibility and vehicle condition, network availability and utilisation of the charging station. Fastned assumes no guarantee or obligation with regard to a specific charging capacity or charging speed. Furthermore, Fastned is liable in accordance with the statutory provisions for damages caused by intent or gross negligence. Any further liability – in particular for slight negligence – is excluded, unless mandatory statutory provisions provide otherwise.


10. Our Rates

The prices that Fastned charges per kWh are indicated on the Fastned website, the Fastned app and on the screens of the charging stations. Fastned is authorised to adjust the prices at any time.


11. If your Payment is late 

If Fastned cannot collect the amount due because, for example, the balance on your account is insufficient, a payment is cancelled, the account number – which you provided during registration – is invalid or an automatic payment is blocked, Fastned will send you a written reminder to pay. If the payment remains unpaid after the period specified  in the reminder, your Fastned account will be blocked and, if you have a Subscription, this may be terminated. Fastned has the right to assign the payment claim to a third party for collection. Any interest and any collection costs related to recovering the outstanding amount are payable by the customer and may vary by country.


12. Specific Subscription Terms 

12.1 Subscription and Cancellation 

If you decide to register for a paid membership (“Subscription”), a contract with a minimum duration of one (1) month is concluded between you and Fastned. With each charging session, a transaction between you and Fastned is concluded within the framework of this Membership contract. If you do not expressly cancel the Membership before the end of this period (via the Fastned app or by email to [email protected]), the Membership is automatically renewed indefinitely after the first month. After the end of the first month, the Membership can be cancelled at any time with immediate effect. 

 

12.2 Want to Withdraw? Here's How

You may withdraw from your Subscription within 14 days of initially signing up without giving any reason, as long as you have not used the discount to charge within this period. In this case, we will issue a full refund of your monthly fee via the same means of payment you used. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement (see non-obligatory sample form on our website) within the 14 day withdrawal period. You can do this by sending an email to our customer support team ([email protected]) or by post. Please be aware that if you have already used the discount to charge within the initial 14-day period, the service is considered fully provided and you will no longer be eligible to withdraw during this period with a refund of the monthly fee. From that point on, you may still cancel your Membership, but the cancellation will only take effect from the following month.

 

12.3 Price Changes and Your Cancellation Rights

Fastned is authorised to adjust the subscription fee and the corresponding discount rate (on the price per kWh) for the following reasons: Changes in legislation and market developments, changes in relation to the margin, changes in relation to price and purchasing risks, changes in the cost structure for the product in question and changes in Fastned's general cost structure. If Fastned decides to change the subscription price and/or the discount rate, we will inform you in good time and offer you the opportunity to cancel your subscription.

 

12.4 Fair Use Policy

Fastned operates a fair use policy for the use of your Subscription, i.e. Fastned reserves the right to impose restrictions on customers with excessive use or to make special agreements with these customers.


13. When we update the Terms of Use

13.1 Significant changes to the Terms of Use

Significant changes to the Terms of Use that affect the basis of the legal relationship between you and Fastned will only take effect if you expressly agree to them. If Fastned makes significant changes to the Terms of Use, you will be informed of the changes in the app and by email, and you will be asked to accept them by clicking on the consent box. 


13.2 Non-essential changes to the Terms of Use

Fastned may unilaterally amend non-essential provisions in the Terms of Use at any time. The amended Terms of Use will be deemed accepted by you, and therefore applicable from the date specified by Fastned and communicated to you (by e-mail). By continuing to use the Fastned app after the amendments take effect, you indicate that you accept the updated Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any amendment, you must stop using the app. You can also delete your account (see Article 8). 

 

14. Applicable law 

Contracts between registered customers and Fastned are governed by the law of the respective state in which you reside as a customer.
