Fastned’s iconic Solar Tree design named finalist in DesignEuropa Industry award

Fastned, a leading European fast charging company, has been nominated for the final of the 2025 DesignEuropa Awards for its Solar Tree station concept, designed by the company’s Location Design Director María García Mansilla. The final ceremony took place in Copenhagen on September 23.
From among 1250 candidates submitted for the award, an expert jury selected just three to progress to the final. Designs were evaluated on criteria including functionalism, design performance, innovation, design ethics and social/human impact.
The Solar Tree drive-through concept, now seen across hundreds of locations on Fastned’s 380-station network, is an innovative and instantly recognisable design for EV charging stations. Inspired by nature and harnessing solar power to contribute to a cleaner environment, this unique design aims to bring visibility and awareness to Fastned stations and to electric driving as a whole. The Solar Tree forms a central part of Fastned’s new flagship stations in Gentbrugge, Belgium - the company’s largest and most sustainable stations to date.
Fastned designs locations for people, not for cars.
