Thinking about going electric?

We’re here to welcome you.

People drive the change to electric. Not cars.

That’s why we are making electric driving better for people. We build charging stations that aren’t just fast and reliable but also beautiful and welcoming. Conveniently located too, our stations are places for people—inspired by nature and fully powered by the sun and the wind.

Fastned started building fast charging stations in 2012 to encourage people to drive electric. We help people by taking away their doubts and offering clear information so they can make the switch with confidence.

The biggest concerns aren’t that big anymore.

Cost: more affordable than you think

A lot of people believe that going electric isn’t for them (yet) because electric cars used to be much more expensive—but that has changed. Driving electric is now cheaper on the whole for the majority of people. The price difference is shrinking fast and is made up after three years on average through lower charging costs.

The rapidly growing second-hand and leasing markets are making electric driving accessible to more people. With electric cars becoming more and more affordable, the case for going electric will be even more attractive in a year. And it will only keep getting better. Range: much greater (and less important) than before

It’s easy to believe someone who claims that electric cars can effectively only drive 150 kilometres or so, because this was true not too long ago. But unlike fossil cars, electric cars have been improving fast.

Today’s electric cars go way farther than most people drive at once, with an average range of 425 km. That’s a fair bit more than the ±30 km people drive per day or the ±225 km most people drive in one go. And because fast charging makes it possible to add hundreds of kilometres in minutes, range has become less important.

Charging: more widespread and faster than ever

Many people worry that there aren’t enough places to charge yet—but it’s easy to underestimate the rate of development in recent years. With 850,000+ public chargers, you can charge anywhere in Europe. Almost 200,000 of these are fast chargers that are capable of charging dozens to hundreds of kilometres in minutes.

Fastned stations are conventionally located along your route and typically have 6 or more ultrafast and ultra-reliable chargers, so you can always count on us. And as part of the Spark Alliance network, we help you find the best chargers from other providers with the Fastned app.
