Fastned wins FEDRO tender for fast-charging hubs on Swiss motorways
Fastned has secured 11 new locations to construct fast-charging hubs in the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) project tender. Having won one of the five lots put out to tender, Fastned will develop fast-charging stations at 11 strategically well-located sites along Swiss motorways.
Last spring, FEDRO put out to tender five lots, each with 11 locations spread across Switzerland, for the construction of e-charging stations. The application required a comprehensive dossier, which was evaluated using a points system. The Dutch fast-charging company sees the drive-through concept and unique design – which have been continuously developed over the years to ensure high safety standards and comfort for users – as key components for its success in this tender.
We are pleased that our concept and our many years of experience were able to convince in the tender. This confirms our vision for user-friendly, efficient and sustainable fast-charging hubs. Our future-oriented drive-through concept and covered stations most likely contributed to this positive result.
As a result of its success, Fastned was able to select Lot Package 1. The locations at which Fastned will now build fast-charging hubs for electric cars include a site near a motorway exit at Lachen SZ and a site in front of the Vereina / Klosters tunnel.
With these new locations, we will make a significant contribution to taking Switzerland's charging infrastructure to the next level and further accelerating the transition to e-mobility by providing an excellent charging experience.
Over the next three years, Fastned will advance the planning of the fast-charging hubs and obtain the necessary building permits. The company is committed to working closely with FEDRO and local authorities to create a network of fast-charging hubs that meet the growing electric mobility needs in Switzerland. FEDRO's tender is part of the 2025 Roadmap for Electric Mobility and aims to promote private initiatives in the field of electric mobility.
