ChargeLeague, Europe’s largest fast charging network, gathers EV leaders in Munich for WATT 2025: a customer-focused summit to accelerate mass EV adoption
- Industry-first collaboration brings CPOs, platforms, and mobility providers together to examine the charging experience from the customer’s perspective to solve mass adoption barriers.
- 70 attendees from across the global EV landscape participate in collaborative masterclass sessions to determine what is needed to create a seamless charging experience for every EV driver in Europe.
- ChargeLeague is the new name and brand identity of the former Spark Alliance.
ChargeLeague, the collaboration between Europe's four leading pure-play EV charging companies Atlante, Electra, Fastned and IONITY, today presented WATT 2025, its inaugural industry summit.
Hosted in Munich, WATT 2025 brought together key automotive industry representatives, routing partners, software platforms, mobility providers, ecosystem partners, and selected charge point operators alongside many other major players in the EV industry, with the goal of promoting collaboration and cross-industry innovation to drive practical solutions for accelerating EV adoption.
This was no regular EV event: WATT 2025 was conceived for industry insiders and exclusively focused on the customer’s perspective and the driver’s charging experience. The overarching question guiding the event was: what shall we do now to deliver a seamless charging experience for every EV driver in Europe?
Experts from Atlante, Electra, Fastned and IONITY were joined by a host of distinguished guests and speakers to present a series of collaborative masterclass workshops and keynote addresses. These focused on overcoming roadblocks throughout the EV driver’s charging experience, and producing tangible takeaways and paths forward for the next phase of the e-mobility transition.
During the summit, the group also announced the rebranding from the former Spark Alliance to its new identity: ChargeLeague. This name is clearer for drivers and reflects the shift from initially sparking an idea to delivering tangible, first-of-its-kind products for drivers. This rebranding will be swiftly implemented by each member company (including in apps and other digital environments).
After a day of fruitful discussion at WATT 2025, ChargeLeague members announced ideas for the 2026 roadmap and called upon attendees to take action and get on board to co-create the charging ecosystem necessary for the upcoming mass adoption of EVs.
ChargeLeague members plan to deepen collaboration and bring more benefits to their drivers. For example, members are aligning on definitions of reliability, maintenance, amenities and other station details in order to provide the gold standard of quality, trustworthy data to customers and navigation partners. This is crucial for making it easier for drivers to quickly and reliably choose the right place to charge, a critical enabler of mass adoption. To facilitate this, a new data platform is being explored.
Furthermore, taking into consideration the consistent feedback from EV drivers, over the coming months ChargeLeague members will begin to extend their existing charging subscriptions to cover the entire ChargeLeague network. Members will communicate directly with their customers in due course on these developments.
The next phase of electrification won’t be won by installing the most chargers, but by earning the trust of drivers. Reliability, ease of use, and confidence at every step of the journey are what will unlock mass EV adoption. ChargeLeague exists to accelerate exactly this shift: from building infrastructure to building a charging experience European drivers can rely on.
We began this collaboration to create Europe’s most seamless and intuitive charging experience, and now we’re moving to implementation - but we can’t do it alone. The entire industry must come together to prepare for the millions of drivers set to switch to electric. ChargeLeague is working hard to make this a reality - and together we can create a cleaner, smoother, and brighter future for mobility.
At ChargeLeague, we’ve already begun taking real steps — uniting our networks to give drivers access to more than 11,000 high-quality charging points without extra friction. But this is just the start. Our vision is bold: a truly seamless, reliable charging experience across Europe that makes electric mobility simple, desirable, and part of daily life. Execution is non-negotiable — and we invite our partners to join us in driving this mission forward.
EV charging is no longer a scattered journey but a shared commitment to delivering fast, effortless, and reliable experiences for every driver. Today in Munich, we were joined by more than 70 EV industry leaders who share one clear goal: to radically improve the EV driving experience across Europe. By joining forces, we’re showing the true strength of collaboration – shaping an electric-mobility future that is intuitive, seamless, and simple at its core.
