Fastned opens first stations in Spain and grows network to 9 countries across Europe
- Official opening of Las Garraf charging stations means the Fastned network now extends to over 380 locations across 9 European countries.

Fastned, a leading European fast charging company, has officially inaugurated its first two stations in Spain, at the Garraf Norte and Garraf Sur service areas on the C-32 motorway between Vilanova i la Geltrú and Cubelles, Barcelona. Each station features 4 fast chargers for a combined total of 16 charging points of up to 400 kW, enabling drivers to gain up to 300 km of range in about 15 minutes.
Fastned’s mission is to accelerate the transition to electric mobility and the company aims to open 1000 fast charging stations across Europe by 2030. With the opening of the first Fastned stations in Spain, drivers can now recharge quickly and smoothly at Fastned locations in nine European countries, spanning north and south.
The stations were officially inaugurated on 9 October 2025 with representatives from the public and private sectors as well as public institutions including the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the city councils of Vilanova i la Geltrú and Cubelles.
The stations at Las Garraf feature our iconic Solar Tree canopies (recently selected from among 1250 industry candidates as one of three finalists at the DesignEuropa Awards) which are instantly recognisable and easy to find from the highway. Thanks to Fastned’s unique drive-through station design, drivers can charge without having to park in a bay - making the experience comfortable, simple and safe.
Fastned’s arrival comes at a key moment for electric driving in Spain. Market share for EVs reached 9.4% in June 2025, with the number of fully-electric cars on the road already up 26% compared to 2024. These historic highs emphasise the country’s desire to shift to greener, cleaner mobility and the need for a fast, reliable and convenient charging infrastructure.
This Spanish milestone is part of the alliance between Fastned and road operator Autopistas to develop high quality charging infrastructure on Autopistas highways. Fastned currently has an additional thirteen locations secured around Spain, aiming to bring the best charging experience to electric drivers in all regions of the country.

These two charging stations represent a strong first step in our ambitious expansion plan.
