Fastned, UK’s best-rated electric vehicle charging station operator, brings ultra-rapid charging to Birmingham
A brand-new ultra-rapid (300kW) charging hub opens today in central Birmingham, providing a quick charging boost for up to twelve electric drivers travelling through the city.
Today, Fastned, the European fast-charging company rated the UK’s best ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging network by What Car?, opens a new charging hub with twelve chargers in Bordesley, Birmingham city centre.
Located off the A45 at Bordesley Circus roundabout, south east of Birmingham city centre, this new charging hub will bring greater confidence to EV drivers travelling in, out and around Birmingham.
Twelve charging bays are supplied with 100% renewable energy, offering drivers up to 300 miles of range in 20 minutes. This charging hub is Fastned’s first in Birmingham and the West Midlands, expanding its network to 28 hubs in the UK.
McDonald’s and the Ibis hotel are both within walking distance of the charging hub, which allows drivers to easily access refreshments while they rest and charge.
Fastned’s reliable and easy-to-use ultra-rapid chargers, which offer a range of payment methods, allow drivers to charge with confidence and get back on the road as quickly as possible.
The new charging hub features Fastned’s yellow wings, which help EV drivers locate the site easily and show drivers who have not yet switched to electric that fast charging is available to them. This helps to accelerate the EV transition in the UK as a whole.
We’re delighted to be opening our first charging hub in Birmingham and the West Midlands. This will be an important piece of the charging puzzle in the area, bringing more charging options to EV drivers which will inevitably support the EV transition in the area and across the UK.
