Fastned, UK’s best-rated electric vehicle charging station operator, opens its second ultra-rapid charging hub in Wiltshire
A brand new ultra-rapid (300kW) charging hub opens today in Royal Wootton Bassett, providing a quick charging boost for up to six electric drivers travelling into and out of Wiltshire.
London, 13 November 2024 – Today, Fastned, the European ultra-rapid charging company rated the UK’s best en-route electric vehicle (EV) charging network by Zapmap, opens a new hub with six chargers in Royal Wootton Bassett, the second in Wiltshire.
The site is located just off the M4 on the A3102, offering drivers in the Swindon area and the South West up to 300 miles of range in 20 minutes.
The launch means Fastned now has 27 charging hubs in the UK, including five in the South West. An initial six charging bays at the site will be supplied with 100% renewable energy.
Fastned’s Royal Wootton Bassett charging hub was co-developed with Carbana, a self-service car wash. This means that drivers can charge and get their cars washed, all in the same convenient location.
Fastned’s reliable and easy-to-use ultra-rapid chargers, offering a range of payment methods, mean drivers in the area can charge easily with confidence and continue their journey as quickly as possible.
The new charging hub features Fastned’s illuminated yellow wings, which help EV drivers locate the site easily and show drivers who have not yet made the switch to electric that ultra-rapid charging is available to them. This helps to accelerate the EV transition in the UK.
Ultra-rapid charging is still very much needed in the South West, so I'm delighted to announce that our Royal Wootton Bassett charging hub is now open. I’d like to thank Carbana for its collaboration in developing this site, which will be an important mobility hub for this part of Wiltshire.
