Fastned wins A/S Storebælt tender, leading to Denmark’s flagship location
- Fastned has been awarded the contract to build a new fast-charging station in Nyborg, directly next to the Storebælt Link
- The station will be one of the largest in Denmark, eventually accommodating up to 20 cars simultaneously and delivering up to 400kW power
- This station will also feature two dedicated truck charging lanes to prepare for the future of electric truck transport
- The opening will take place in mid-2025
Fastned, the European fast-charging company, is announcing today that it has won the A/S Storebælt tender in Denmark. This gives the company the opportunity to build a prestigious and large station in Nyborg at a strategic location – right before the Storebælt Link directly off of the E20.
This station marks the fifth location Fastned has secured since entering the Danish market in July 2023. It will be accessible in both directions and fits well into the company’s existing high-traffic location strategy.
The E20, along with the Storebælt Link, is one of the most used motorways in Denmark. It connects the country’s mainland and Germany to Copenhagen.
Due to design restrictions in previous tenders, this will be the company’s first Danish station to feature Fastned’s trademark full-size canopy. It will also be one of the largest in Fastned’s entire network. This station will serve as an example of what future-oriented fast-charging stations can achieve in terms of pleasure of use, safety, comfort, reliability, and speed.
By building this big, beautiful, drive-through station, we are finally able to give Denmark's EV drivers a best-in-class charging experience and show the market what the future of fast charging looks like.
Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2025 and be completed by mid-year.
