Fastned, the second largest fast charging company in Europe, celebrates its five years listing on Euronext Amsterdam

Fastned, the European fast charging company, was introduced to the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange exactly five years ago. Since then, Fastned’s network has tripled in size, and electricity sales have grown by over tenfold. Today, Fastned ranks second1 in the European charging industry ahead of other pure players,  European oil majors and utility companies.

Through its listing, Fastned expanded access to capital markets and has since, successfully raised €225 million in equity. In addition, Fastned has raised over €200 million by issuing bonds to retail investors, growing a community of investors who trust Fastned to drive the transition to electric mobility. In 2022, Fastned was added to the Euronext Tech Leaders Index, which highlights the visibility and attractiveness of high-growth and leading Tech companies.

Five years have passed since the listing and how amazing is it to look back and see all the achievements. At the time, Fastned was already a leading player in the Dutch fast charging market. When we hit the gong that day, we did so, with the goal of raising funds to massively expand Fastned’s network beyond borders and become a European leader in our industry. Looking back, we delivered.

Fastned’s strategy of high-traffic locations combined with an award-winning concept put it in the unique position to accelerate its network expansion on a proven station business case. Today, this continues: to each EV driver who stops at our stations, we deliver the best charging experience.

Looking forward, we see that the electric transition is on the verge of its next acceleration phase with a new and even larger segment of cars being electrified. Cheaper and better batteries are driving this transition. In the coming months, cars like the Renault 5 or the electric Citroen C3 will hit the streets.

Because Fastned invested early and developed a large and reliable charging network, we are in a pole position to capture an outsized proportion of this market growth.” Michiel Langezaal, CEO and cofounder.

As electric mobility accelerated development lies ahead, Fastned aims for a network of 420 to 450 stations by the end of 2025. This rollout will be funded with future bond issuances and Fastned’s own cash position.
